Praise For God’s Protective Arms

Praise for God’s Protective Arms

There is no one like the God of Israel.

He rides across the heavens to help you,

across the skies in majestic splendor.

The eternal God is your refuge,

and his everlasting arms are under you. . . .

So Israel will live in safety,

prosperous Jacob in security, . . .

How blessed you are, O Israel!

Who else is like you, a people saved by the LORD?

He is your protecting shield

and your triumphant sword!

Deuteronomy 33:26-29

At the end of his life, Moses stood before the people and reviewed their history with God, admonishing them to be faithful and pronouncing a blessing on each tribe. Then he praised God with the words above. Moses pictured God as riding “across the heavens to help [them]” and holding them in his everlasting arms. Moses declared, “How blessed you are, O Israel! Who else is like you, a people saved by the Lord?”

We need to ask ourselves the same question. How has God uniquely blessed you? Take some time to review your own history and count the ways God has upheld you and your family.

  • Dear Lord, I praise you for holding me in your everlasting arms . . .
