Praise For Blessings That Overflow

Praise for Blessings That Overflow

You prepare a feast for me

in the presence of my enemies.

You honor me by anointing my head with oil.

My cup overflows with blessings.

Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me

all the days of my life,

and I will live in the house of the LORD

forever.

Psalm 23:5-6

Though wolves and lions might roam the countryside, a loyal shepherd would always protect his sheep. He would lead them to lush pastures and flowing streams, watch for predatory animals, and then guide his flock back to a place of safety. David thought of God as his loyal shepherd, providing for and protecting him. Yet God did even more than any shepherd would do. He didn’t simply provide food; he arranged a feast for David in front of his enemies’ jealous eyes and treated David as his guest. God didn’t merely give him gifts; he gave him a cup overflowing with all sorts of blessings.

Think of the ways in which God has provided for you and blessed you more than you deserve.

  • Dear Lord, you have made my cup overflow with blessings. I want to live in your house forever . . .
