Offering Ourselves To God

I heard the Lord asking, “Whom should I send as a messenger to this people? Who will go for us?”

Isaiah 6:8-9

“Here I am. Send me.” Isaiah’s response to God’s call was eager enthusiasm. After being cleansed of his sins with a burning coal, Isaiah was anxious to show his gratitude to God in tangible ways. When God asked, “Whom should I send as a messenger to this people?” Isaiah responded with zeal. Once he had been justified in the presence of the Holy One, he held nothing back from God. God revealed a need for someone to go as a messenger to his people. Isaiah offered the only thing he had—himself; and God accepted his offering.

Are you eager to respond to God’s call? In prayer, imitate Isaiah’s attitude by offering your life to God.
