May Everyone Praise The Lord
May Everyone Praise the Lord
Praise the LORD!
Yes, give praise, O servants of the LORD.
Praise the name of the LORD!
Blessed be the name of the LORD
now and forever.
Everywhere—from east to west—
praise the name of the LORD.
For the LORD is high above the nations;
his glory is higher than the heavens.
Psalm 113:1-4
The God we worship reigns over all nations. He is the God of the poor and rich alike, the Lord of all races and nationalities. Our God is also the Lord of all time—from the time of Abraham’s day to our own. This prayer calls on people everywhere and in every age to bless the name of the Lord. Why is he worthy of our continual praise? Because he is “high above the nations” and “his glory is higher than the heavens.”
When you approach God in prayer today, first praise him for being Lord of all times, all places, and all people. Reflect on God’s character and his purposes for the whole earth, and bless his name.
- Mighty God, you are high above the nations; your glory is higher than the heavens . . .
