Honoring Our Faithful God
Honoring Our Faithful God
Praise the LORD who has given rest to his people Israel, just as he promised. Not one word has failed of all the wonderful promises he gave through his servant Moses. May the LORD our God be with us as he was with our ancestors; may he never leave us or abandon us.
1 Kings 8:56-57
As King Solomon surveyed the magnificent Temple God had allowed him to build in Jerusalem, he reflected on how much the Lord had blessed his people. Their ancestors had wandered the deserts as nomads for decades, but now the Israelites owned their own land. They had endured several invasions, but now they enjoyed peace. Solomon wisely recognized that this was from the Lord’s hand and praised him for these things. What a marvelous God! Not one of God’s promises had failed through all those generations!
Take some time to review how God has blessed you. How has he provided you with food and shelter? In what ways has he given you rest? Remind yourself of God’s promise to give believers an eternal rest from the sufferings of this world. Then, offer your praise to our faithful God.
- Faithful Lord, I praise you that not one of your promises has failed . . .
