Giving God Glory

Giving God Glory

Give to the LORD the glory he deserves!

Bring your offering and come into his presence.

Worship the Lord in all his holy splendor.

Let all the earth tremble before him.

The world stands firm and cannot be shaken.

Let the heavens be glad, and the earth rejoice!

Tell all the nations, “The LORD reigns!”

Let the sea and everything in it shout his praise!

Let the fields and their crops burst out with joy!

Let the trees of the forest rustle with praise,

for the LORD is coming to judge the earth.

1 Chronicles 16:29-33

Whether they are basketball players or accomplished chess players, we love to talk about champions. Often these victors have persevered through years of hard work and self-discipline before achieving their accomplishments, and now they soak up the praise that fans naturally shower on them. How much more does God deserve our enthusiastic praise? God is the loving Creator of the entire earth. In this prayer, which was sung as the Ark of God was brought into Jerusalem, David called on all of creation to join him in rejoicing over the Creator.

Plan to take a walk outside this week so you can appreciate God’s creation. Give glory to God for what he has created and see how creation celebrates the Lord with you.

  • Dear Lord, I praise you and give you the honor you deserve from your creation . . .
