Have You Heard The News?

Have You Heard The News?

Faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ.

Romans 10:17

WHY DO YOU GO TO CHURCH? It’s good to gather with the body of Christ and dig into the Bible together. Worshiping the Lord with other believers is an awesome experience. But hearing the Word of God is very powerful. A big part of going to church is hearing the pastor speak the truth.

But apart from your pastor, how often do you hear people talking about God? If you listen to Christian radio, you might get an earful every now and then. But most of us probably don’t hear much being said about God during our workweek.

Just as an audiobook proclaims the Good News about Christ through words, we should do the same. The apostle Paul writes, “Faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ.” The first step in believing the gospel is hearing it. Many people will never set foot in a church building, so it’s up to us to reach them with God’s life-changing message.

Look for ways to talk about what God is accomplishing in your life. Memorize Scripture and share God’s wisdom with the people around you. Let your friends know you’re praying for them during difficult times. Don’t hide your relationship with Christ. Boldly and prayerfully speak about the difference He’s made in your life so others will be encouraged to believe too.

BOTTOM LINE

People need to hear the Good News about Jesus. Boldly, graciously, and prayerfully witness for Him through your words.
