Get The Message
Get The Message
I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes.
Romans 1:16
WHENEVER YOU GO TO THE MAILBOX, you can probably count on finding two things: bills and junk mail. Normally, you may toss out the junk mail without looking at it. But sometimes you have to admit that something catches your eye. Maybe it’s a great sale. Perhaps it’s an offer for a free vacation.
Direct-mail professionals know they’ll have more misses than hits. If they get a 3 percent response on a piece, they’re pretty happy. Then they’ll continually change the packaging, design, and promotions to get an even greater return.
As Christians, we can learn a lot from the direct-mail approach when it comes to telling others about Jesus. God wants us to be His witnesses. Maybe we don’t do much to spread the Good News message because we feel that everybody’s heard it before or because we’ve already told the people around us. But we can’t give up.
Romans 1:16 says we shouldn’t be ashamed of the gospel, because “it is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes.” We need to keep sending out the message and not give up. God promises that the gospel message has power. Most of the time it may be discarded, but eventually (with persistence and creativity) our message will catch somebody’s eye and pay eternal dividends. And that’s the best return of all.
BOTTOM LINE
Commit to telling two people this month about the life-changing message of Jesus Christ, and pray that God would lead you to the right people.
