BUNDLES OF BOOKS
Read John 6:5-13.
“Wow, Ethan, I can’t believe all the books you borrowed from the library!” exclaimed Lucas as his brother came into the house and put a stack of reading material on the table.
Mom came into the family room. “Reading is a good way to learn about animals, other countries, sports from around the world, or any number of things.”
“Right,” Ethan agreed. “You can learn how to do things too. Last year Dad built Romeo’s doghouse from plans he found in a book at the library.”
“Well, I like reading adventure stories,” Lucas said. “And I like those books we have about science experiments.”
“How about the Bible? Do you enjoy reading God’s Word?” Mom asked.
Ethan nodded. “I like reading about the miracles Jesus did—like the one where He used a little boy’s lunch to feed five thousand people.”
“I like the story about Jesus calming the storm when His disciples were afraid. Just think—without the Bible, we wouldn’t know about those miracles,” Lucas added.
Mom said, “The Bible says that the world couldn’t even contain all the books that would have to be written if everything that Jesus did was recorded!”
“What a fantastic library we would have then!” Ethan exclaimed.
HOW ABOUT YOU?
Reading can be fun. Reading the Bible is most important because that is how you learn about God the Father, Jesus, His Son, and the plan of salvation. There’s so much to know that even the oldest Christians will tell you they’re still learning as they keep reading the Bible.
TO MEMORIZE:
Jesus also did many other things. If they were all written down, I suppose the whole world could not contain the books that would be written.
