A Witness (part 1)
A WITNESS (PART 1)
Read Luke 24:46-48.
Krystal was walking home from Bible club and thinking about her good friend Maribeth. Krystal knew she should tell Maribeth about Jesus, but Maribeth might laugh at her!
As Krystal waited at an intersection for the light to change, she saw an old man start across the street against the light. Suddenly a truck came through the intersection and hit him. Soon paramedics arrived, and the injured man was on his way to the hospital.
A few nights later Krystal’s dad read in the newspaper, “The police are looking for the red-haired girl who witnessed an accident on the corner of Clay and Main at 2:50 p.m. on Tuesday.” Dad looked at Krystal. “It seems that they need you as a witness.”
“But I didn’t do anything wrong,” said Krystal.
“Of course not,” Dad assured her. “They’re just looking for someone to tell them exactly what happened. Someone must have seen you there. I’ll go with you to the police station so you won’t be alone. You don’t need to be afraid to tell them what happened.”
When Krystal went to bed that night, the scene of the accident went through her mind. She remembered that she had been thinking about witnessing to Maribeth but she had been scared. Now it seemed she was going to have to be a different kind of witness. She was scared about that, too, but Dad would be with her. Suddenly she realized that her heavenly Father would be with her when she witnessed to Maribeth. If she could trust her earthly father, how much more should she trust her heavenly Father!
HOW ABOUT YOU?
Are you afraid to witness to others—to tell them about Jesus? Remember, you’re not alone. Jesus has told you to go and be His witness, and He will go with you. Trust Him.
