Will You Be My Friend?

FATHER GOD, I am surrounded by people but find myself lonely and longing for friendship. I come before you expressing my desire to

learn how to develop deep, lasting friendships;

have the courage to reach out to my neighbors to establish a connection;

open myself in a true and authentic way in order to become a refrigerator friend;

check my judgments and expectations at the door in order to make new dinner friends;

expect less from and love my girlfriends more.

Actions I will take:

Example: I will reach out to our new neighbors and invite them over for dessert.

Father, I thank you for each person on this earth whom you have wonderfully made. I praise you for the concept of fellowship and the joy that friendship can bring. I pray that you will bless me with discernment and wisdom as I choose good friends and as I model Christian values to casual acquaintances. As you bring me friends, Lord, make me friendly. Amen.
