FATHER GOD, when my spiritual walk has slowed to a crawl, help me to

remember that you alone are my hiding place;

remember that you are my source of calm at 3 a.m.;

praise you for providing all my daily needs;

be less self-focused and fervently pray for my friends and family;

slow down and pray before I start my day without you;

remember that you have not abandoned me; you’re just taking a rest from my whining!

Father, what a privilege to be able to come to you as your child and talk with you. Thank you for providing peace in my storm and calm to my craziness, and for caring enough for me to provide for my every need. Remove my self-centeredness, Lord, and remind me to pray earnestly for my friends and family, lifting their needs and causes before you. Thank you for your constant love. In the name of your Son, Jesus, I pray. Amen.
