Getting A Do-over

Getting a Do-Over

FATHER GOD, I thank you for second chances; you have spoken to me and I am convicted that I

often perform for the praise of others rather than living a more balanced life with uncommon joy;

have allowed others to abuse me;

have put my marriage at risk by participating in risky, flirtatious behavior;

often listen to the voice of others before the voice of the Holy Spirit;

have allowed my spiritual maturation to stall;

am trying to run my life without you and outside of your will;

need to study your Word at a much deeper level;

focus more of my attention on action items and tasks than I do on people;

have confused “I can,” “I should,” and “I want”;

am not investing in my own personal development;

am missing precious opportunities with my children, my husband, and in my work because I am preoccupied and pedaling too fast;

have allowed self-imposed obligations to rob me of uncommon joy;

hear the call of God to have more babies;

often apologize for other people’s failings or for things outside of my control.

Actions I will take:

Example: We will make Thursday night family pizza and game night.

My gracious Father, I thank you for giving me a do-over. I thank you for women who will share their insight and wisdom to help me be the woman you have called me to be. I ask that you will strengthen me, guide me, and help me to learn from my own do-overs and to share willingly with other women as we create your Kingdom on earth, one that is pleasing to you. Amen.
