When you were born, adults supplied everything you needed to live, be healthy, and grow. When you became a newborn Christian, God made everything available that you need to live a godly and successful Christian life.

Sometimes people search for something more. They want something that will make them feel good inside. But they don’t need something more when it comes to living the Christian life. They can tap into God’s power available to them when they turn their lives over to him.

Maybe you’ve gone to a Bible camp. You had fun playing games, doing skits, and swimming with your friends. The chapel services were exciting, and it seemed every word was meant for you. You were determined to go home and live a much better Christian life.

When you arrived home, things didn’t go as planned. You missed your camp friends and the inspiring songs and messages. Reading your Bible and praying wasn’t the same at home either.

That’s because you were on a spiritual high at camp. The camp atmosphere was exciting and emotionally charged. But that doesn’t mean you can’t live for God just as well at home. God has already given you what you need to do that. But it’s a day-by-day walk as you turn your own goals and feelings over to God and ask him to replace them with his own.

For You

If you don’t feel as close to God now as you have at other times in your life, maybe it’s time to tap into his power. As you focus more on what God wants for you and less on your own desires, you’ll find yourself living a more victorious Christian life.
