We Really Don’t Know Until . . .

We Really Don’t Know Until . . .

Dear friends, we are already God’s children, but he has not yet shown us what we will be like when Christ appears. But we do know that we will be like him, for we will see him as he really is.

1 John 3:2

THE WORLD OFTEN looks at Christians and calls us hypocrites. While all of us will sometimes do stupid things and make mistakes that some people will use to claim we’re fakes, the truth is that God promises in his Word that we are his children.

The world won’t always believe this. We may apologize for our mistakes, but they will claim it’s all just a ruse. We may dust off some strong arguments to give them a reason for why we believe what we believe, but many will still think we’re believing in a God who doesn’t exist.

One day, though, Christ will return. In an instant, we’ll all be like him in beauty, in character, in perfection. The whole world will see us then, and they’ll realize what a grave mistake they made in thinking we were the fools and they the wise ones. God’s claim is that though the world may not see the truth now, one day everyone will when Christ appears.
