Silence The Opposition

Silence the Opposition

It is God’s will that your honorable lives should silence those ignorant people who make foolish accusations against you.

1 Peter 2:15

MARTHA, A CHRISTIAN, worked as an office assistant. Some of her coworkers ridiculed her for her beliefs. In time, jealousy raged through the department because Martha, a solid and consistent worker, got various promotions and pay raises for her faithfulness. Soon, accusations were floated that claimed Martha fudged on certain reports, stole from the supply closet, and took overlong breaks.

Her boss, taking the accusations seriously, decided to do an investigation without Martha’s knowing it. Several people watched her, timed her, and calculated every little thing she did. In time, they had quite a record—showing that Martha was not only highly honest but never did any of the things she was accused of. She proved herself faithful both to her job and to her Lord.

In the same way, others may accuse you of wrongdoing. How will you overcome it? By always doing right. By conducting yourself righteously before God and before others.

Today’s Scripture verse is a promise that the truth will eventually come out, and if you have been trustworthy, you will be rewarded with respect and God’s support.
