Revealed

Revealed

We look forward with hope to that wonderful day when the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, will be revealed. He gave his life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us his very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds.

Titus 2:13-14

LYDIA WAS ALWAYS struck by the hope she found in the Bible. One of the things she most looked forward to was the day when Jesus would reveal himself to the world. She prayed about this constantly.

What she never expected was that God would use her now to reveal himself to others. Lydia helped rake leaves on her elderly neighbors’ lawn, and when they came over to thank her, she had a chance to tell them about her hope and why she did that good deed. When new people moved in across the street, she sent them a box of chocolates, a casserole, and a note inviting them to church. Although they didn’t come immediately, through her witness they began to change some of their negative images of Christians.

When a coworker was stricken with cancer and ended up in the hospital, Lydia was one of the few who kept coming by with gifts, kind words, and occasional affirmations from the Bible. In time, her friend told her that she saw God reflected in Lydia.

While the day is coming when the glory of Christ will be revealed, we can also be sure that he promises to reveal himself through our witness and good deeds as well.
