Keep With It

He will give eternal life to those who keep on doing good, seeking after the glory and honor and immortality that God offers.

Romans 2:7

WHILE FAITH ALONE saves us, doing good confirms that faith and assures us of a reward in heaven. Many Christians argue that simply accepting Christ, walking an aisle, or praying a prayer makes us fit for heaven. But the Bible adamantly shows us that although faith is the starting place, it’s not the end point. God wants to change us, make us vehicles of his grace and good works, and use us to transform the world.

What do you seek in this world? Riches? Honor? Position? Power? Fame? Many people get sucked in to such pursuits, but most soon find them empty. It is only through the pursuit of true glory and honor by serving and worshiping God that anyone ever achieves great things in God’s eyes.

Take a brief assessment. Do you seek the things that last, that God alone can give? That’s a sign you are a true believer, with a faith that will make your life a blessing. God promises to give you the things that last too. You can be sure he will not hold back any good thing from those who call on him to use them in his Kingdom and service.
