God Will Do It

You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father.

John 14:13

WHEN YOU ASK people to tell you their stories of answered prayer, you never know what you’ll hear, but you can be sure that you’ll get a great variety of responses and that you will be amazed at the scope of God’s power and love.

There are healings from physical infirmities. Financial miracles. Restoration of relationships. Spiritual growth. You’ll hear all that and much more when you start inquiring about answered prayers.

And it’s no wonder, considering the enormity of the promise we find in this verse. Jesus told his listeners they could ask for anything in his name and he would do it.

Does that mean God’s like a slot machine—you put your prayer in and get your riches out? The key is to ask in Jesus’ name with a pure heart and unselfish motives. Another key is to ask for something that will bring glory to the Father.

Just think. We have unlimited access to the one who has unlimited power. He not only allows us to bring our needs and issues to him but also encourages us to. He wants us to ask so that he can answer. He wants to say yes!

If you have a hard time believing that God wants to do good things in your life, even grant your heart’s desires, just ask others about how he’s answered prayers in their lives. Memorize today’s verse. And ask him in confident faith. Ask in Jesus’ name, and just see what he’ll do to bless you and glorify his Father.
