God Be Praised

God Be Praised

In the west, people will respect the name of the LORD; in the east, they will glorify him. For he will come like a raging flood tide driven by the breath of the LORD.

Isaiah 59:19

IN MANY PLACES in the world today, God’s name is little more than a curse word. God is vilified, hated, rejected, and spit upon. People the world over think of him as the “white man’s God,” “namby-pamby Christian God,” and so on. Unfortunately, they have no idea whom they’re really blaspheming. Satan has lied to them about who God is and what he is like, and they have bought into those lies.

One day, though, according to this passage, every person will know the truth. God will be glorified, and his Son, Jesus, will stand at his right hand to be worshiped and exalted by every person.

Do you ever wish that Jesus got a better “rap” in this world? Unfortunately, that won’t happen except as, one by one, people come to believe in him and know him. All the rest will continue to cast insults at him. But God’s day is coming. He promises to deal with all the blasphemers, and then the Lover of your soul will be known, seen, and worshiped. Trust God’s Word. Look forward to his exaltation, and to yours, too.
