Follow The Instructions

Follow the Instructions

Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.

Joshua 1:8

HOW OFTEN DO you rip into a new electronic device, appliance, or other household tool and just start using it, while the instructions sit unused? Why is it that so many of us hate to read the instructions? Perhaps we think they’re a waste of time, or that surely our new items can’t be complicated enough to need directions. Or we may consider an instruction manual something to open only when we hit a trouble spot.

On the contrary, instructions can often save us time. They can give us an overview of the product. And a good instruction manual is often developed because of questions and problems other people have had—to answer questions before we ask them. Instruction guides can also help us know how to get the optimum performance from our purchase from the very start.

The verse above likens the Bible to an instruction manual. Perhaps that’s why we Christians should make sure we’re consistently reading it—and, even more, studying it. If we read it and take it to heart, it can help us know how to not only survive but also truly find success and live an optimum Christian experience.

Keep studying that Instruction Manual—you’ll never regret it!
