Don’t Fear

Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.

Isaiah 41:10

FEAR CAN PARALYZE a person, even a Christian. Worry about anything, and everything, can waylay you quickly.

The antidote is a passage such as the one above. This is one of those great promises of the Bible that many Christians memorize early on in their faith. It’s so full of great spiritual power that you should get it right now firmly treasured in your heart so you can refer to it at any moment.

Just look at what it says. First, God is with you. Considering he’s the biggest guy on the block, that should be strong assurance. Second, he says, “I am your God.” That means the only true God is the one you worship and trust. No one can stop or derail him. Third, he will “strengthen you and help you.” Who better to do that than the almighty, all-knowing, all-wise, and all-present one? Last, he says he will “hold you up with [his] victorious right hand.” The immense right hand of God holds up small, insignificant you. You cannot be anything but victorious.

Are you afraid? Discouraged? Feeling weak and overwhelmed? Get this verse into your heart, and then ask God to make the promise a reality in your life. It’s a promise he will never fail to keep.
