Between You And God #26

Between You and God #26

Dear God, I’m too old to want to be a princess anymore . . . but I kind of still do. Is that weird?

From the time they are little girls with pink tutus and pretty ballet slippers, many girls want to be princesses. What’s not to like? There are fancy clothes, lots of jewelry, servants to do your chores, and a handsome prince who will love you no matter what. It sure beats going to school, wearing hand-me-down coats and shoes, and taking the trash out or loading the dishwasher.

Truth is, many of us wish our lives started out with “Once upon a time.”

We need to remember the rest of those fairy tales, though. The life of a princess isn’t perfect. There are hard times and disagreements. She’s misunderstood! No one sees her for the beautiful maiden that she really is! Who can help?

There is someone who sees you as the beautiful princess you are. Nearly always, there is a handsome hero who comes riding in on a fine horse to save the princess—and the day. God is the King of kings! And because you are his child, you are a daughter of the King! No matter how others may treat you or how many difficult things you’ll go through, in the end, you will have a Happily Ever After.

Why? Your very own hero, Jesus, will always ride in to save you at the end. Your story will include hard times and misunderstandings and people who do you wrong. But God will make sure that you, his princess, live Happily Ever After when all is said and done.

How about You?

If you could be any princess, which one would you be, and why?

God Says . . .

God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. Romans 8:29
