Small Groups

DEAR LORD, how thankful I am for the group of believers I meet with regularly. I have formed close bonds with these friends, and our weekly meetings nourish my soul. It’s a place where we can share, encourage one another, and be transformed by your Word. We sense your presence in our midst, for you have promised to be with us whenever we gather in your name.

When you lived here on earth, you chose a small group—a group of twelve men you called your disciples. I can only imagine what it must have been like to have lived and traveled with you—to observe your matchless character, to witness your miracles, to feel your love. And yet, even living day in and day out with you, those men showed their true colors, not always understanding what you were teaching them. I am just like them.

The wonder of it all is that you are still very much with us—and in us, through your Spirit. You have asked us to represent you to one another in loving service. Lord Jesus, help me to be an accurate reflection of your grace, truth, and love to members of my group. Amen.
