Marriage Restored

LOVING GOD, last night a friend described the joy of restating her marriage vows in a special ceremony at church. What satisfaction this brought to her and her husband, and what happiness I feel for them. My friend sensed your presence in the room, blessing her and her husband in a deep way. I’m grateful for signs of healing in the lives of these two children of yours.

They have climbed a long, difficult road. Years of betrayal, bitterness, and arguing were followed by the help of wise counselors, friends, and family. Week by week and month by month, they experienced advances—along with some setbacks—on their journey toward wholeness and trust.

I rejoice in your power to help them. Thank you for doing what seemed humanly impossible. You brought life to their marriage when it appeared to be dead. This shouldn’t surprise me, Father, because you are a God who can raise the dead!
