Honesty
Honesty
FATHER, I need your help today to choose honesty and goodness in everything I do and say. When I’m tempted to shade the truth, I want to immediately say, “I’m slipping, God! Help me do the honest thing in this situation.” You’re always ready to assist. I just need to ask.
Dishonesty causes so much pain in our lives, God. All of us have been on the receiving end of deceitfulness, and sadly, we’ve all been on the giving end too. If we tell a lie, the person we dupe will eventually feel marginalized, put at a disadvantage, or even hated by us. You tell us in Proverbs that “a lying tongue hates its victims.” That’s sobering, God.
Please help me to be honest with myself, honest with you, and honest with others. May I keep learning how to speak the truth in love.
Look at those who are honest and good,
for a wonderful future awaits those who love peace.
