God’s Help

MIGHTY GOD, we need reinforcements. At times we feel attacked from various directions, and we wonder how we will ever defeat the adversaries intent on destroying us, from without and within. Though we’re not fighting physical battles with weapons such as David was when he penned the words below, we are fighting real battles nonetheless.

Whether our situation seems like a squabble, a tug-of-war, or major combat, we need your wisdom, strength, and resources. You are our wisdom, Father. May we seek it in your Word and plead for it throughout the day. You are our strength, Father. We depend on you to give us vitality to do good and power to resist evil. You are the source of all help, Father, and you alone know what we need for the challenges we face. We gratefully acknowledge how you’ve helped us—and many others—in the past, and we humbly trust that you will take command and lead us to victory now.
