Friendship With God
Friendship with God
MY FRIEND AND MY GOD, early each morning I look forward to spending time with you, probably for some of the same reasons I enjoy spending time with my husband. It doesn’t matter what my husband and I are doing—working together, riding in the car, or cleaning up the kitchen after dinner. What’s important is that we’re together.
That’s how I feel about my time with you, God. I want to be with you. My husband knows me better than anyone else on earth, and he loves me in spite of it. But you know me completely—better than I know myself. I’m grateful that you love me with unfailing love, even though you know all my sins, weaknesses, and faults.
Thank you for your Word, God. It’s my lifeline, and I don’t know what I’d do without it. Thank you for your Spirit, who helps me apply your truth and gives me insight and guidance for everyday challenges. It’s no wonder I’m eager to spend time with you. May I never take any of this for granted, Lord.
