Confirmation

DEAR LORD, my young friend is about to be confirmed in the church where he and his family are members. He has prepared for this day and has shown commitment to Christ and his church. He has affirmed his understanding of his church’s doctrines and teachings, and his intentions to continue growing with this fellowship of believers.

Lord, I pray you would strengthen my friend’s faith in you. Please bless him with wisdom, understanding, and good judgment. I ask that your Holy Spirit would fill him with courage, knowledge, and reverence. May he often glimpse your grace and glory. Surely, all of these things are gifts you willingly give to any of us. We acknowledge our need for these gifts, as well as for discipline to practice them in daily life.

Please guide my friend into truth, empower him to make a difference, and enable him to be loyal to you. May this child of yours live in union with you and be so filled with your Spirit that his life will be an inspiration and example to people around him. Please bless this future leader, Lord—today, and in all his years to come. Amen.
