Communion
Communion
GRACIOUS LORD, today, I plan to worship you by taking Communion in the fellowship of your people. As your children, we will remember the amazing sacrifice you made on our behalf. We will recall that horrible night when you were betrayed, when you broke bread and said to your disciples, “Take this and eat it, for this is my body.” After giving bread to your disciples, you took a cup of wine and gave thanks to God for it. When you gave your disciples the cup, you said, “This is my blood, which confirms the covenant between God and his people. It is poured out as a sacrifice to forgive the sins of many.”
Lord Jesus, as I take this bread and cup today, I remember what you have done for me. You willingly paid the ultimate price for my sin when you were nailed to a cross. None of my efforts were enough to make me right with you. It’s because of your mercy that all my sins have been forgiven. I am in awe of what you have done for me. May I never forget the miracle of your love. Thank you, Jesus. Amen.
