Ruth 1:16

Ruth 1:16

Wherever you go, I will go; wherever you live, I will live. Your people will be my people, and your God will be my God.

When famine struck Israel, Naomi and her family moved to a foreign country, where Naomi’s sons married. Sadly, Naomi and her daughters-in-law eventually became widows. After the famine in Israel ended, Naomi decided to return to her homeland. But on the way, Naomi urged Orpah and Ruth to go back to their country. Orpah decided to leave, but Ruth would not. Ruth’s decision to care for her mother-in-law not only threatened her chances to remarry and have children but also meant leaving her people and their gods. Later God blessed Ruth for her selflessness by giving her a new husband and a baby. No sacrifice you make for another will go unnoticed by God. He loves to bless those who put others first.
