Psalm 56:8
Psalm 56:8
You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book.
This beautiful verse comes from a chapter in Psalms that describes David’s choice to trust God to help him in the face of his enemies. We, too, can trust God in our hardships, because every part of us is precious to him—even the tears we cry. He not only sees those tears but also takes note of each and every one. Perhaps this is because he knows they represent the loss of something important to us. Since God goes to such great lengths to show us his care, he can be trusted to respond lovingly when we come to him with our grief and anguish.
