Isaiah 40:8

The grass withers and the flowers fade, but the word of our God stands forever.

When the Babylonians were holding God’s people captive, Isaiah offered them comfort with this prophecy. But this verse was written not only for the people of Judah thousands of years ago; it is the recorded Word of God and one of the main ways he speaks to us today. God’s Word is living, reliable, everlasting, and never-failing. No matter how much this world changes, the truth of God’s Word never will. And no matter what season of life you are in, God has something to say to you. Ask him to give you an open heart to receive whatever he wants to reveal to you through his Word.
