Hebrews 13:1-2
Hebrews 13:1-2
Keep on loving each other as brothers and sisters. Don’t forget to show hospitality to strangers, for some who have done this have entertained angels without realizing it!
Hospitality is an important part of loving others. These verses encourage us to show hospitality not only to those we love but also to those we may not even know. There are plenty of reasons we avoid hosting others—busy schedules, messy homes, feelings of inadequacy. But beautiful decor and gourmet meals have little to do with hospitality. Hospitality is about cultivating a safe space for others to experience the welcoming presence of God. Don’t be distracted with making the perfect meal or having a spotless house. Just be generous with what you have, set aside your insecurities, and enjoy the people who come into your home. It is your presence, not your presentation, that makes others feel welcome.
