Exodus 15:2-3

The LORD is my strength and my song; he has given me victory. This is my God, and I will praise him—my father’s God, and I will exalt him! The LORD is a warrior; Yahweh is his name!

The Israelites had just witnessed their own miraculous rescue by the Lord. He parted the Red Sea, led them safely across the dry seabed, and caused the water to swallow up Pharaoh and his entire army as it crashed back into place. Then everyone sang a song of praise to God. This passage from the song reveals so much about God’s character: He is strong, he is a warrior, he fights evil on our behalf, and he will always be victorious. This is the kind of God we serve. You can bravely face your day knowing that the God who parted the Red Sea is on your side.
