Magnificent Prayer #94
Magnificent Prayer #94
Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.
1 Corinthians 11:1
Come near to the holy men and women of the past and you will soon feel the heat of their desire after God. They mourned for Him, they prayed and wrestled and sought for Him day and night, in season and out, and when they had found Him, the finding was all the sweeter for the long seeking.

Pray About It: To be an effective pray-er is to join a long list of holy men and women of the past who have set a challenging pace as they pushed hard after God.
Today as you pray, remember that you’re a link in a two-thousand-year-old prayer chain. I like to think of it as an orchestra in which all Christians past and present have played and are playing the same beautiful music by their prayers and praises. The harmony we have with our predecessors and with each other keeps the melody going strong.
You can make a difference for the kingdom of God as you play your part, just as all who have gone before you, have done and those who will come after us as well.
Has it ever occurred to you that one hundred pianos all tuned to the same fork are automatically tuned to each other? They are of one accord by being tuned, not to each other, but to another standard to which each one must individually bow. So one hundred worshippers meeting together, each one looking away to Christ, are in heart nearer to each other than they could possibly be were they to become “unity” conscious and turn their eyes away from God to strive for closer fellowship.
