There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from his own work, just as God did from his.

Praying for others can only flow from a heart at rest about itself, and knowing in itself the value of the desires which it expresses for another. I could not be truly happy praying otherwise.

Pray About It: Is your heart restless? So often our prayers can become the chattering of an insecure religious pretender. True prayer comes from a heart at rest, sure of itself and even more sure of the object of its prayer.
Happiness in prayer comes from certainty. A restless heart is an uncertain heart. Today, anchor your prayers in God. Quiet your heart and be still before your Father.
O God, make us children of quietness and heirs of peace.
