Magnificent Prayer #336
Taste and see that the LORD is good;
blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.
Psalm 34:8
Take time. Give God time to reveal Himself to you. Give yourself time to be silent and quiet before Him, waiting to receive through the Spirit the assurance of His presence with you, His power working in you.
Take time to read His Words as in His presence; that from it you may know what He asks of you and what He promises you. Let the Word create around you, create within you, a holy heavenly light in which your soul will be refreshed and strengthened for the work of daily life.

Pray About It: In many areas of our life, time seems to be the enemy. We have so many possibilities for use of our time—possibilities that our ancestors never dreamed of. But in our pursuit of God, time can be our friend. God will not be the kind of friend with whom you can hold a casual acquaintance, and perhaps exchange greetings only at Christmas. God wants the kind of relationship that only time can buy.
Time with God may not be a recent invention, but it’s as modern and up-to-date as the newest computer technology. But we must take the time to be with Him. Savor the minutes in prayer as you would the taste of a good meal. Taste and see that the Lord is good.
When we rob God of time for quiet, we are robbing Him of ourselves. It is only in the quiet that we can really know Him and know ourselves, and be sure that we give ourselves back to Him. Oh, for God’s sake, do not risk keeping the windows of heaven closed by robbing God of time.
