Magnificent Prayer #304

Magnificent Prayer #304

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.

Psalm 46:1

Never keep a trouble half an hour on your own mind before you tell it to God. As soon as the trouble comes, quick, the first thing, tell it to your Father.

CHARLES HADDON SPURGEON

Pray About It: We are not often in the habit of going first to God when trouble comes. We usually allow a new arrival of a problem to fester a bit in our minds. We try to figure our way out of it—and then if nothing is apparent, we take it to God. But God would have us get in the habit of fleeing to Him in prayer at the very onset of a problem.

Watch today. If trouble arises, go first and quickly to Him.

We ought to act with God in the greatest simplicity, speaking to Him frankly and plainly, and imploring His assistance in our affairs, just as they happen.
