God never ceases to speak to us; but the noise of the world without, and the tumult of our passions within, bewilder us, and prevent us from listening to Him.

Pray About It: It’s hard to know which is more distracting to our prayers—the pull of the world with its distractions or the tug of our own passions to fulfill their every desire.
But in the middle of it all is the voice of God speaking to us, quite loudly actually. Listen to Him today—reckon yourself alive to God and dead to the world and to your flesh.
The first and last stages of holy living are crowned with praying.
