Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Prayer is God’s business to which men and women can attend. Prayer is God’s necessary business, which only Christians can do, and that Christians must do. Men and women who belong to God are obliged to pray. They are not obliged to have success in business. Material success is incidental, occasional, and merely nominal, as far as integrity to heaven and loyalty to God are concerned.
In the light of eternity, we are neither better nor worse with or without earthly success. Achievement in the eyes of the world is never to be considered a sign of great reputation or sterling character in the eyes of God. Our obligation to God is that of prayer. Prayer is loyalty to God. Nonpraying is to reject Christ and to abandon heaven. A life of prayer is the only life which heaven counts.

Pray About It: You have one goal in life. Just one. Knowing God is the one pursuit around which all else pales in comparison.
Life is short. Your communion with God is all that really matters; your money will gain you no eternal advantages.
Today, face God and place all that you have on the altar. Consign your material goods to His keeping or His disposal. Sever your emotional ties to this world’s wealth. Give Him all. He must come first.
If your heart is still attached to the world’s goods, your prayers will be weak.
Only one life ‘twill soon be passed.
Only what’s done for Christ will last.
