Magnificent Prayer #222

Magnificent Prayer #222

The righteous will live by faith.

Romans 1:17

Do you believe when you have come from prayer that is dry, that it was because of poor preparation and that the time you spent before Him has done you no good? If you do, then your belief is fallacious. Genuine prayer does not consist in enjoying the Lord, nor enjoying His light. Nor is it in having gained knowledge of spiritual things…

The consistency of true prayer is in faith, and in waiting on Him. First you believe that you are in His presence. You believe that you are turning to Him with your heart. And you wait there before Him, tranquilly. These are the only preparations that you need. The final results contain a great deal of fruit.

MICHAEL MOLINOS

Pray About It: There is no dryness when faith is at work. This is true because faith is based on the objective truth which isn’t affected by dryness or abundance. God hears, no matter how dry you may feel. Just wait before Him in faith. Ignore feelings. Follow the steps that Michael Molinos proposes:

  1. Believe you are in His presence.
  2. Turn to Him with your heart.
  3. Wait tranquilly.

Prayer is not given to us as a burden to be borne or an irksome duty to fulfill, but to be a joy and power to which there is no limit.
