Magnificent Prayer #183
Magnificent Prayer #183
Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.
Matthew 18:19–20
Unite with you in prayer, one or more of the most devout disciples, especially in critical cases. One great advantage is that selfishness is apt to color our supplications, and when others are united with us, they are less affected by motives that may unduly influence us.
ARTHUR T. PIERSON
Pray About It: The value of prayer partners for special occasions can’t be underestimated. Who do you have in your life that you can depend on for urgent prayer when necessary?
Prayer by oneself is indispensable, but remember that Jesus promised to be in the midst of two or three gathered in His name. Today, consider who you might ask to be an occasional or regular prayer partner. God will draw you closer to each other and to Himself.
If the prayer of one saint has power with God, then the prayer of two saints may be said to have double the moral power; and in proportion as God’s people unite in asking for a specific gift, must be the certainty of its being granted.
