Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 3:13–14
I have learned to see a need of everything God gives me, and want nothing that He denies me. Whether it be taken from or not given me, sooner or later God quiets me in Himself without it. I cast all my concerns on the Lord, and live securely on the care and wisdom of my heavenly Father.

Pray About It: The things that God has given you were given because He saw your need of them. In His role as Father, He then provided them—missing nothing.
The things you have been denied you never really needed. They are not for you. Lot’s wife looked back longingly at something she couldn’t have, and it meant her destruction. Those who were willing to leave Sodom behind and look ahead to God’s provision, selected for them, were saved.
Look ahead.
Forget the things you don’t have. You don’t need them at all.
You had better be a poor person and a rich Christian, than a rich person and a poor Christian. You had better do anything and bear anything and be anything than a dwarf in grace.
