Danger was a daily companion. She eventually won the confidence of tribal chiefs with her courage, her medical skills, and her sense of humor. But underlying all her success was her life of prayer.]
My life is one long daily, hourly, record of answered prayer. For physical health, for mental overstrain, for guidance given marvelously, for errors and dangers averted, for enmity to the Gospel subdued, for food provided at the exact hour needed, for everything that goes to make up life and my poor service.
I can testify with a full and often wonderstricken awe that I believe God answers prayer. I know God answers prayer…
I am sitting alone here on a log among a company of natives. My children, whose very lives are a testimony that God answers prayer, are working round me. Natives are crowding past on the bush road to attend palavers, and I am at perfect peace, far from my own countrymen and conditions, because I know God answers prayer.
Food is scarce just now. We live from hand to mouth. We have not more than will be our breakfast today, but I know we shall be fed, for God answers prayer.

Pray About It: When it comes to the power of prayer, missionaries are among the most convinced. Daily they see God at work in the everyday routine of life. But they not only depend on their own prayers, but those of the people back home.
Today is a day to pray for missionaries around the world. If you know some by name, pray specifically for them. Their work is hard and the rewards, though great, are often delayed. But as workers on the front lines, they see God move in ways that would astonish the rest of us.
Prayer is the mighty engine that is to move the missionary work forward.
