Magnificent Prayer #153
We pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work.
Colossians 1:10
Here is the secret of great success: Work with all your might, but don’t trust in the least in your work. Pray with all your might for the blessing of God, but work at the same time with all diligence, all patience and all perseverance.
Pray then, and work. Work and pray. And still again pray, and then work. And so on all the days of your life. The result will surely be abundant blessing.

Pray About It: God has called us to work as well as to prayer. Sometimes that work is physically demanding and we get tired. As a result, our work suffers and we languish. But it doesn’t have to be that way.
Think about the hardest thing you must do today. Maybe it’s just your daily routine that seems to take all your energy. Or maybe today an unexpected situation will present itself that will require more effort than you anticipated.
Read the verses from Isaiah below and take a minute to pray about all that God will send your way today. As you pray, appropriate, by faith, these verses for your specific situations. Later, as the pressure mounts, and the unexpected presents itself, recall the message of these verses, leaning hard on God to supply strength:
Do you not know? Have you not heard?
The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.
He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.
Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
Isaiah 40:28–31
You can do more than pray after you’ve prayed, but you can’t do more than pray until you’ve prayed.
