Magnificent Prayer #125

Magnificent Prayer #125

I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word.

Psalm 119:16 KJV

Conversation between God and mankind in this world is maintained by God’s Word on His part, and by prayer on ours. By the former, He speaks and expresses His mind to us; by the latter, we speak and express our minds to Him.

JONATHAN EDWARDS

Pray About It: There is a remarkable intertwining between God’s Word and prayer that many Christians miss. Just as our prayers express our heart to God, so His Word expresses His heart to us. As we read God’s thoughts through His Word, we know Him better. And to know Him better is to pray better.

Today, read Psalm 91 and see in the words God’s message for you. Return often to His Word to hear Him speak to you again and again.

The Bible is God’s chart for you to steer by, to keep you from the bottom of the sea, and to show you where the harbor is, and how to reach it without running on rocks and bars.
