We Can Be Made New - Let's Go

When you hear the word “transformation,” what do you think of? Maybe you think about action figures or shapeshifters. Or what about a caterpillar? Have you ever seen the process of a caterpillar being transformed into a butterfly? (If not, you should for sure check that out!)

The caterpillar inches slowly along to get from place to place. And then over time it forms something called a chrysalis. While it’s inside the chrysalis, it turns into a beautiful butterfly with majestic wings just waiting to take flight! It looks like an entirely different creature, but it’s still that same caterpillar that was just munching on leaves not too long ago. The caterpillar has simply, yet miraculously, been transformed.

We can experience an even more amazing kind of transformation because of Jesus. When Jesus died on the cross that dark day, He took the punishment for the sins of the entire world. That punishment is being far from God, our Creator. Then on the third day after Jesus died, He showed that God is more powerful than death itself when He was raised back to life.

Jesus came to earth so that we could live life to the full, so that we could be forgiven, and so that we could be close to God again. It’s because of the transforming power of Jesus that you can be truly yourself. Not the you that you think you should be, or the you that the world says you should be. The real you.

When you choose to follow Jesus, the transformation process is just beginning. You might not look different, but you’ll begin to be changed into the very best version of yourself. You’ll be the you that God had in mind when He created the world.

It’s a you that’s no longer bound by what you’ve done or what’s been done to you. It’s now about what’s been done for you and that is worth cheering for. So go and celebrate today because Jesus came to save you and bring transformation through God’s free gift of grace!
