Where The Rubber Meets The Road

It’s impossible to grow up in Michigan, as I did, and not know who Henry Ford was. I had relatives working at the Ford plants in Detroit and all around southern Michigan. In the 1960s and 1970s, the automobile industry was a major part of Michigan life.

Developing the first car involved overcoming significant challenges, not least of which was convincing people they needed it. Generally speaking, people had no idea what Henry Ford had created. It wasn’t in their wildest imaginations. Little did folks know that what he had created would be such a benefit to them and their lifestyles.

It can be like that in business, where we don’t see the opportunities before us for progress or growth or a way of doing something that could be a benefit to many.

It can also be like that with God’s Word. So many people are blissfully ignorant of the abundant life that Christ is offering. They go through life, often going through the motions of church and worship without ever fully connecting to the source of power that is truly available to them, not thinking they are missing the peace, abundant life, and promises that flow from that power.

They know they need something but can’t pinpoint what it is. Why not share with them what a relationship with Jesus Christ has added to your life? The benefits are even more valuable than a new car.

His Promises

I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.

The LORD will guide you continually,

giving you water when you are dry

and restoring your strength.

You will be like a well-watered garden,

like an ever-flowing spring.

Use [your] money to do good. [You] should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others. By doing this [you] will be storing up [your] treasure as a good foundation for the future so that [you] may experience true life.
