Starting Every Day
Starting Every Day
Do you want to do something that will dramatically change your life and the lives of others around you?
Spend some quiet time every morning with the God who created you.
Keep a pad and a pen with you. Have a Bible at hand—preferably one that is easy to understand. Maybe start reading a chapter or two each day from the Gospel of John.
Pray for a few minutes—remember, you’re just talking to God. Make some notes on what crossed your mind while you were praying. You may think your mind wanders, but maybe God is telling you something He’ll come back to later.
Moments spent with the Lord are always well spent. If you have never done it before, commit to ten minutes each morning to begin with. If you have been doing this on a regular basis, increase your time. I promise those few minutes will change your life.
His Promises
I have not departed from his commands,
but have treasured his words more than daily food.
Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me.
Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing. Anyone who does not remain in me is thrown away like a useless branch and withers. Such branches are gathered into a pile to be burned. But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted!
Take delight in the LORD,
and he will give you your heart’s desires.
Commit everything you do to the LORD.
Trust him, and he will help you.
